Reliable Filling Solution for Self-standing Doypack Bags
Our stand-up pouch packaging machine, also known as a doypack machine, is designed to fill and seal pre-made stand-up pouches. These bags have a gusseted bottom that allows them to stand upright on store shelves. The machine handles a wide range of products including liquids like juice and sauce, powders like protein and coffee, and granules like nuts and pet food. Speed ranges from 30 to 70 bags per minute depending on bag size and product characteristics.
How the Stand-up Pouch Machine Works
Bag Magazine & Pick Up
Empty stand-up pouches are placed in a horizontal or vertical magazine. A pick-and-place system using vacuum suction cups picks one bag at a time and transfers it to the rotating or linear bag clamps.
Bag Opening & Bottom Spreading
The machine uses suction cups to open the bag mouth. For stand-up pouches, a bottom spreader device pushes open the gusseted bottom to ensure the bag stands fully open. This step is essential for consistent filling because a partially opened bottom can cause product spillage or improper sealing.
Filling Station
Our machine accommodates multiple filler types. A liquid filler with nozzle lift is used for water, juice, oil, and sauce. An auger filler is used for fine powders. A combination weigher is used for snacks and frozen products. A volumetric cup filler is used for free-flowing granules like rice or beans. The filling nozzle can be equipped with a dust extraction system for powder applications or a drip-free valve for liquid applications.
Sealing & Cooling
After filling, the bag moves to the sealing station. Pre-heating and main sealing bars work together to create strong seals. For stand-up pouches, the bottom gusset area requires special seal pressure to avoid leaks. A cooling bar follows the main seal to set the seal shape and reduce seal cooling time. This prevents distortion of the stand-up bottom during discharge.
Optional Spout Fitting
For stand-up pouches with drinking spouts, we offer an optional spout feeding and fitting module. The spout is inserted into the bag mouth before sealing, and the sealing jaws are designed to seal around the spout flange.
Output & Collection
Finished stand-up pouches are discharged via a conveyor belt to a collection table, or directly to a checkweigher and metal detector for quality control.
Key Technical Features
Our stand-up pouch packaging machine features a servo-driven rotary or reciprocating design. The touch screen PLC stores up to 100 bag recipes including temperature, pressure, sealing time, and filling volume. Changeover between different bag sizes takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The machine is constructed from SUS304 stainless steel with a protective IP65 rating for the electrical panel. An automatic bag rejection system removes unopened or misfed bags before filling.
